The C. G. Jung Society of
Sarasota is offering a small group discussion based on the reading of Memories,
Dreams, Reflections, the autobiographical work of C.G. Jung. This book was written
by Jung shortly before he died in 1961. In it he discusses his theories and many memorable
and significant events of his life going back to his childhood. In one section he deals
with his own near death experience. During each meeting of the group there will be a reading
out loud followed by a discussion. No prior knowledge of Jungian psychology is necessary
to participate in the group. The facilitator of the group, Barbara Shocket, a licensed mental
health counselor, and member of the Board of the Jung Society will guide the study and discussion
and provide a basic orientation to Jungian psychology. The group will always be open to
new participants.
For more information please call Barbara Shocket at 941-350-8495.
